What is Podiatry?
Podiatry is a branch of medicine that diagnoses and treats disorders of the foot, ankle and lower limb. Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatrists will assess how a patient’s foot interacts with the ground and address any abnormalities which are leading to tissue stress and injury.
Gait analysis
Gait analysis investigates how the body moves. At Ardboe Foot Clinic we use the latest technology to assess body mechanics, muscle activity and foot and ankle posture during walking and running. By analysing a person’s three dimensional gait we are able to diagnose dysfunction and provide the correct musculoskeletal treatment to optimise and improve performance.
Ardboe Foot Clinic provides gait analysis assessment using digital cameras, computerised software and foot scanning technology to capture three Dimensional biomechanical information.
This information along with your medical examination allows the clinician to provide expert advice and provide the correct treatment strategy to resolve your condition.
What are functional foot orthoses?
An orthotic is an in-shoe device that alters foot function, reduces tissue stress and improves patient bio-mechanics.
Your Orthoses are prescriptive devices that address the needs of your foot and ankle mechanics. Unlike ‘inserts’ you can purchase online or in store, Orthotics at Ardboe Foot Clinic are custom made to suit you exclusively.
Steroid injections.
Ardboe Foot Clinic is one of only a small number of practices offering foot and ankle steroid injections. These injections prove very successful in reducing pain and resolving symptoms in the foot and ankle.
